Philadelphia’s Taney Street is named for Supreme Court Justice Roger Taney, the author of the Dred Scott decision that ruled that Black people weren’t U.S. citizens. The goal of Renaming Taney Street is not to forget history, but rather to acknowledge that naming a street after someone is a prestigious honor, and that honor should only be bestowed upon those who deserve it.

ALSO: Please sign the petition (https://www.renametaney.com/) and pass it along widely to your friends and neighbors!!

Come join the effort to bring more progress to Philadelphia!!
